ANALISIS STRATEGI MEMPERTAHANKAN KEARIFAN LOKAL PADA PETANI KARET DENGAN POLA SWADAYA DI DESA JAKE KECAMATAN KUANTAN TENGAH KABUPATEN KUANTAN SINGINGI

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to identify local wisdom for rubber plants which have previously been done but not continue today, those formerly done and still continue today and  those not performed before but is conducted today by rubber farmers. The method used was survey and Snowball Sampling in finding the respondent. There were 15 respondents consisting of 1) Farmers Rubber, 2) Ninik Mamak, 3) Religious Leaders, 4) Supernatural figures, 5) village officials, 6) Head of the Center for Counseling 7) Members of farmer groups and 8) Traders. Interviews were conducted to obtain information about local wisdom for rubber plants. The criteria will be seeking respondent rubber farmers who have cultivated for a long time and know the local wisdom for rubber plants. The results showed that local wisdom for rubber plants conducted by the farmers in rubber cultivation were as follow: 1) clearing of land has 30 local wisdoms; 2) Nurseries has 8 local wisdom 3) Planting has a total of 11 local wisdom 4) Maintenance has 13 local wisdom and 5) intercepts has total of 12 local wisdoms 6) harvesting and postharvest has 12 local wisdom 7) Marketing has 9 local wisdom. Total rubber plant local wisdom was 96. Strategies in maintaining local knowledge of rubber cultivation in Jake village Jake resulted in 12 strategies, which consist of 4 SO strategy, 4 ST strategies, 3 WO strategies and 1 WT strategy. The forward integration strategy suggested is forming farmer groups with the help of the Village Chief to establish cooperation with the factory in terms of marketing rubber product so that rubber farmers are more facilitated in terms of marketing and minimizing marketing costs and getting a higher selling price so that they are not dependent on intermediary traders.
